I’m Mustapha, a certified Moroccan mountain guide and local tour organizer based in the Marrakech and High Atlas region. With more than 9 years of experience in guiding, I specialize in mountain trekking, nature experiences, and cultural discovery across Morocco. I have extensive experience in the High Atlas Mountains, including Mount Toubkal, Imlil, Azzaden Valley, and traditional Amazigh villages. I also organize and guide experiences in Marrakech, the desert, and other regions of Morocco.

Join me for an invigorating mountain hike through the Moroccan High Atlas, where rugged trails lead between dramatic rock walls, terraced hillsides, and timeless mountain villages. As we climb, the landscape opens into sweeping views of deep valleys, jagged ridgelines, and snow-dusted peaks. The route combines rocky terrain, quiet highland scenery, and rewarding viewpoints, with plenty of opportunities to pause, take photographs, and appreciate the scale of the mountains. This is an active outdoor experience for guests who want to discover Morocco’s extraordinary landscapes on foot.

Atlas Mountain Summit & return
One-Day Atlas Mountains Trek from Marrakech – 2,600m Summit 09:00 AM – Pickup from Marrakech Meet your private driver at your hotel or riad in Marrakech and begin your scenic journey towards the High Atlas Mountains. The drive to Imlil takes approximately 1.5 hours. 10:30 AM – Arrive in Imlil (1,740m) Meet your local mountain guide, take a short bathroom break, prepare your daypack and begin your hike. Make sure you have enough drinking water with you for the trek. Trek through Berber Villages Start walking through traditional Amazigh villages and beautiful mountain landscapes. Along the way, enjoy the opportunity to visit a local home and experience Moroccan mountain hospitality with a traditional mint tea. Through the Mountain Forest Continue your ascent through the pine and juniper forest, following scenic mountain trails towards Tizi n’Tamatert. Tizi n’Tamatert – Rest & Panoramic Views Take a well-deserved break at the pass and enjoy spectacular views over the Imlil and Imnane valleys. Continue to the Summit – 2,600m After the break, continue hiking towards the summit at approximately 2,600 metres. Enjoy the impressive views of the surrounding High Atlas peaks and valleys, and take some time for photos and relaxation. Descent & Lunch in Nature Begin your descent and stop at a peaceful location in the mountains for a traditional lunch surrounded by nature. Afternoon – Return to Imlil After lunch and some time to rest, continue your descent back to Imlil. Late Afternoon – Return to Marrakech Meet your driver in Imlil and enjoy the drive back to Marrakech. You will be dropped off at your hotel or riad, marking the end of your Atlas Mountains adventure.
