Toubkal Local Guide
I’m Mustapha, a certified Moroccan mountain guide and local tour organizer based in the Marrakech and High Atlas region. With more than 9 years of experience in guiding, I specialize in mountain trekking, nature experiences, and cultural discovery across Morocco. I have extensive experience in the High Atlas Mountains, including Mount Toubkal, Imlil, Azzaden Valley, and traditional Amazigh villages. I also organize and guide experiences in Marrakech, the desert, and other regions of Morocco.
About this experience
Experience the adventure of climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa at 4,167 metres. Starting from the mountain village of Imlil, you will trek through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, traditional Amazigh villages and the beautiful Ait Mizane Valley. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking mountain landscapes, meet local people and discover the culture and hospitality of the High Atlas. After spending the night at the Toubkal Refuge, you will start an early morning ascent to the summit, where panoramic views across the Atlas Mountains await. This experience combines adventure, nature and authentic Amazigh culture, guided by a professional local mountain guide who knows the trails and region well.
Itinerary
8:00 AM
Toubkal Summit
08:00 AM – Pickup from Marrakech Meet your private driver at your hotel or riad in Marrakech and start your journey to the beautiful Ouzoud Waterfalls. The drive takes approximately 2.5–3 hours. 10:30–11:00 AM – Arrival at Ouzoud Arrive at the waterfalls and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of the cascades, olive groves, and surrounding valleys. Explore Ouzoud Waterfalls Take a walk along the viewpoints and natural trails, and descend towards the base of the waterfalls. Enjoy the scenery, take photos, and discover the local area at your own pace. Optional Local Guide A local guide can accompany you during the visit if you would like to learn more about the waterfalls, local villages, and surrounding area. Optional Boat Ride For an additional experience, you can enjoy a traditional boat ride near the base of the waterfalls. Optional Lunch You can choose to have lunch at one of the local restaurants overlooking the waterfalls. Alternatively, you are free to choose another place or bring your own lunch. Afternoon – Free Time Enjoy some free time around the waterfalls, relax, take photos, and explore the area before meeting your driver. 04:00 PM – Return to Marrakech Meet your driver and begin the journey back to Marrakech. 06:30–07:00 PM – Arrival in Marrakech Drop-off at your hotel or riad, marking the end of your Ouzoud Waterfalls day trip.
